about

Daniel has been writing and recording material for many years, and this song is part of his second album, which is to be completed in 2015.
It is a pensive view of the expectation and purpose in a relationship, reflecting the emotion experienced both externally and from within.

The recording was done at Studio 99, South London, run by Dan's talented friend, producer and keyboard player Mike Westergaard.

lyrics

"Ever since I called to you from another room
You listened to my fears and you made it clear how it was to be
And you’d see me.

I’d sit in silence and I’d look at you
I didn’t seem to know exactly how to say the things that I needed to
Just to stop me losing you.

And when you gave to me space in your tears for my sorrow
Lying awake with me you gave me hope for tomorrow.

Knowing I was hurting you was only wrong
At the time we thought we knew we’d always carry on
But the days had to end

And my soul descends.

Of all the different things I could promise you
I’m always coming back and finding you wherever you’ll be
And you’ll see me.

And when you say to me, “This can be yours forever.”
Lying awake with me sharing my moment’s pleasure.

Knowing I was hurting you was only wrong
At the time we thought we knew we’d always carry on
But the days had to end

And my soul descends.

Knowing I was hurting you was oh so wrong
At the time we thought we knew we’d always carry on
But the days had to end

And my soul…

Hurting you was so wrong
Every time I thought I knew what else was going on
But the pain never ends

And my souls descends".

about

The Sounds of Strangers UK

We are a group of BT musicians who have come together (initially as strangers) to create an album of different music from our bands or solo acts to raise money for charity. Our first album is in support of the World Cancer Research Fund UK.
We wanted to contribute our 'sounds' for the album - responding to an S.O.S. appeal from Phil Brunkard who kicked off the project.
We hope you enjoy.
