about

Composed by: David Steel & Sean Fleming

‘Falling’ is a song about acceptance.
Mostly it’s about accepting that none of us are invincible; no one is perfect. Whether it’s coming to terms with your own shortcomings, facing personal tragedy, or that sense that you’re not in control of your own life, anyone can end up feeling like they are falling.
Being there for someone else, or even just knowing that there are times when you need to be patient with yourself, can make all the difference.
The melody and words to ‘Falling’ seemed to introduce themselves the first time David played the song to me.
(Sean Fleming)

lyrics

"Find the time to repeat your old mistakes,
See the signs of defeat on every face,
Build a wall ten feet tall to hide your heart,
See the end as the end and not the start.

I see you falling,
I hear you calling too.
I will be waiting,
Catch you when you fall, when you fall.

Feel the sun beating down upon your face,
Like the tears of a clown, you’ll leave no trace,
Feel your soul growing older every day,
Find your tongue, find it’s got nothing to say.

I see you falling,
I hear you calling too.
I will be waiting,
Catch you when you fall, when you fall.

Wear your heart on your sleeve with no reprieve,
Feel your feet beat retreat out on the street,
Head for home on your own, and you’re all alone,
Hear your doubts and your shouts, you’re checking out.

I see you falling,
I hear you calling too.
I will be waiting,
Catch you when you fall, when you fall".

from BT charity album 2015 (in support of World Cancer Research Fund), released May 5, 2015
The Subtitles band first formed in 2008 by David Steel, Graham Matthews and Steve Cannan.

Although the three of them had the musical side of things sewn up, finding a regular vocalist was a challenge, until Sean Fleming joined on vocals and guitar. Whilst they have increasingly focused on playing their own material it is heavily influenced by the catalogue of covers they also play from The Cribs, The Smiths and Modest Mouse to The Stones, The Who and Billy Fury

about

The Sounds of Strangers UK

We are a group of BT musicians who have come together (initially as strangers) to create an album of different music from our bands or solo acts to raise money for charity. Our first album is in support of the World Cancer Research Fund UK.
We wanted to contribute our 'sounds' for the album - responding to an S.O.S. appeal from Phil Brunkard who kicked off the project.
We hope you enjoy.
